Community Tasting Notes 7

June 20, 2012 - Fruity nose of sour cherry, cranberry and strawberry. Slightly estery. Pine, florals, liquorice.
Medium bodied, refreshing and rather fruity with slight grip. Red berries, pink grapefruit, herbs and slight liquorice. Bitter mid-length finish.
    Not that good really.
EDIT: Way better on 2nd day. Bright and pure with beautiful florality. Focused.

April 27, 2012 - Uncorked for two hours, served at room temperature. Color: Light to Medium Red with a hint of Blue. Nose: Raspberry, Floral notes, Cranberry. Palate: see nose. Finish: Short to Medium. Tannins: Low. Alcohol: 13 % showing a little. Light to medium bodied mouthfeel with initial raspberries. Floral mid-palate transitions into a cranberry dominated finish. Even though a little light and one dimensional, doesn't taste cheap. Gladly the jammy fruit quality doesn't transition from the nose but instead palate feels more pure. 87-88 points.

December 8, 2011 - An Evening with Laurent Drouhin (USQ): This was an interesting showing. To my palate this came across as very pinot-esque and much lighter than most 2009s. Nice clean flavors and well delineated fruit, but lacked some energy. Maybe just a dumb phase?

October 1, 2011 - Dark cherries on the nose. Light bodied, juicy, low tannins, good acidity, showing dark fruit, mainly dark cherries.Perhaps a little monolithic but otherwise a nice quaffer.

September 4, 2011 - Initially closed, but developed nicely with some air. Dark crimson, with cherries, blackberries, sweet tannins.
