August 26, 2016 - A dark ruby red wine with the first signs of bricking on the edges. Very complex nose earthy with hints of cedar and black fruits. On the palate this is a very well structured wine with steely tannins. The fruit is fairly muted but the structure and complexity help carry it. The finish is smooth and long. This is a bit of a restrained Dunn really good but not a powerhouse

March 6, 2016 - Classic Dunn nose, heavy on tea leaves and old oak barrels. Was uncorked and allowed to air 45 mins before opening at a restaurant 30 mins later.

A bit past its peak, but this was purchased on 2ndary Mkt and moved 3x, so which may have impacted aging. Dominant red fruit, faint tobacco, hint of herb. Structure is fading, drink up, not rated.

January 23, 2016 - A nice age-worthy Napa Cab. Decanted for two hours. The youthful black fruit (cassis) is still there and wonderful tertiary aromas are coming on - mushroom, truffle, leather. This is fabulous now and should continue to gain complexity for 5+ more years.

January 23, 2016 - After 1 hour in the decanter still fairly tight. A deep dark ruby red, the nose is very earthy and herbal. On the palate it's still very tannic not really as integrated or smooth as I would like. May need more time.

May 10, 2015 - Balanced with nice leather, spice and still good tannin.

(Dunn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain) Bricking very dark red violet color; tart berry, tart cassis, tart blackberry, spice berry nose; tasty, rich, poised, tart blackberry, tart black cherry palate; approachable now but could use 2 years; medium-plus finish
