December 7, 2023 - This bottle was probably not representative of the vintage -- it had been sitting for a long time in a hot Roman apartment and was very evolved. One person at the table said that it tasted like diluted port -- no acidity, a flavor of ripe figs, some tannin that became more apparent over the course of the evening. It was nevertheless delicious, rich and elegant and easy to drink, with some structure from the remaining tannin.

June 10, 2023 - Very disappointing - a flawed bottle - not what you expect.

January 1, 2023 - Do you like Barolo? Yes? Then you will find this wine idiotically good -- chewy tannins in the foreground, great depth, leather and tar and flowers and some meatiness, an assortment of flavors of intensity and complexity. Even after two decades, this wine needed four hours in the decanter -- it tasted thin and very acidic at first -- but was perfect with our New Year's Eve dinner. Lots of sediment. The last wine of 2022 and perhaps the best.

October 2, 2021 - Tasted blind. Really too hot and alcoholic, bitter aftertaste, cooked fruit. I don’t know if this was a badly stored bottle or it is over the hill, but didn’t enjoy this.
