August 17, 2019 - Tasso spice, wet tobacco, smoked meat, and tree bark on the nose. Dark fruited on the palate with plums, currants, medium+/high acid, well-integrated tannins and a medium+ length finish.

It's good, but the promise of the nose isn't quite realized on the palate. There's still a nice sense of freshness here, but the palate feels a little flatter and one note.

October 10, 2011 - Don't be in any hurry to crack open this inky dark puple offering. A musty, gamey nose with blackberry and plum. Tannins are still a bit rough around the edges, and mouth puckering. Needs time.
