Community Tasting Notes 1

  • El_Dougo Likes this wine: 90 points

September 23, 2022 - 3rd generation only Northern Rhône (they own their own vineyards).
Three lieu-dit in northern Ampuis on hills: Fourvier (steep slopes), Le Plomb & L’Arselie (hilltops) inspired by Burgundy. Mica schist soils.
    2016 cooler climate. 92% Syrah, 8% Viognier. Aged 18-20 months demi-muids.
Nose smokey, less fruit driven compared to first wine in tasting session…very terroir driven. Pepper, herbal, meaty / savory. Not fruity.
Palate shows black fruit, high acidity.
