May 6, 2022 - Dark and rather dense. Earthy, showing a an unwelcome (for us) characteristic of coffee that we find rather typical from this house. Nice enough for two nights — and then the last half of the bottle jumped into a sauce.

March 23, 2022 - Nice pomegranate notes. Still drinking well.

December 22, 2021 - Lovely elegant and refreshing strawberry/raspberry fruit but with a solid intensity. It surprised me a bit having improved a lot over the last years. It is certainly a well-made wine with lots of depth while maintaining a lovely elegance. For me, this wine indicates that they 2011's from Calera is ready to drink now and is at a good drinking age where it has a good balance between elegant fruit and intensity.

December 6, 2021 - 2011 Ryan: Medium + colour. Fresh fruit, a little barrel creaminess.. medium body, excellent concentration. Firm and one for the Ages. Elegant.
2011 de Villiers: Dark Wild fruit and blood in the nose. Rich, so concentrated with red and blue fruit...powerful and showing its 1 ton per acre yield.

May 22, 2021 - W superb grilled chicken, spicy sweet potatoes and some great apple, fennel blue cheese salad. Great meal overall. Maybe the wine was a bot overwhelmed by this great spicy food but overall acceptable combination. Drink up.
