October 28, 2023 - Decanted for small amount of fine sediment. Garnet colored, bricking at the edges. Cherry, cola, some spices and a bit of sois bois. Ready with short decant.

October 8, 2023 - Calera PN has been in my cellar for a few decades, though more recently, with more bottles.
This Mills has been resting since it arrived, and upon opening, it was Burgundian.

After reading a few notes from my fellow CT brethren, it was decanted for about 3 hours.

    Pale Ruby. No garnet
The usual PN character, though, the cola was very evident the first day, and masked by ox or redux the second.
There's still a little tannic structure here, but, I believe it might get this wine another few years... and, to what end? It's not improving, that's for absolute certain.

In terms of the decant, I think either PnP, or 60 minutes max. This declined in 24 hours so fast, that it's on the edge of turning... so air is more a hindrance than help.

That said, this was great yesterday and much less great today. To me, that says drink up!
But, I haven't a 2nd bottle with which to confirm.
(Apparently wear educating kids back then?)

Good wine today, though yesterday, very good.

    Spiced Brown Sugar Ham
    Fresh Potlatch Spiced Atlantic Salmon

    PN 100%
    abv.

    PS - Drink The Rainbow!

September 5, 2023 - This wine has sentimental value. We opened it for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Lovely red fruit profile, well-balanced with generous structure and great length. Calera has been one of my favourite Californian producers for a long time and this wine delivered after nearly a decade of home storage.

January 11, 2023 - {bought on release, #2 consumed}> ripe, somewhat sweet nose though not physiologically sweet; good red fruits, cinnamon notes, on palate the attack is mostly forepalate but good midpalate. Distinctly not my style (personal rating 87-88 given profile) but analytically 91-92. By recollection the Selleck is better. Imagine a super Beaune wine (with it's structure for long aging) with attractive candied fruit. See note by Papies. Very well made but candied aspect reduces personal enthusiasm. 91 score but.. personal lower.

June 1, 2021 - Outstandingly full fruit with solid structure. Drinking at prime now but should be lovely for another 5-7 years very easily.
