Community Tasting Notes 6

March 5, 2018 - PnP. Medium garnet. Fresh cherry dried cherry rhubarb and a touch of cola. On the nose. Light weight with cherry skin tannins. Cherry rhubarb touch of cola on the palate. A touch stewed. Pleasantly surprised given the brand and age.

July 23, 2016 - A Bridal Shower full of really Sucky Wines: Astringent and austere, with oaky notes of strawberries, cherries, oranges, and wood spice. Lacks typicity.

April 7, 2014 - Black cherry color with very little translucency. Very ripe and sweet nose with aromas of almost overripe raspberries, some strawberry jam, a little bit of sweet oak spice and chocolate and a hint of cherry marmalade. The wine is medium-bodied, soft and somewhat sweet on the palate with flavors of bitter spices, earthiness, cranberry sauce, almost overripe raspberry, a little bit of savory wood, a hint of allspice and a touch of sour cherry jam. The wine is moderately high in acidity, keeping it somewhat fresh and structured, but there are no tannins whatsoever. The finish is rich and somewhat spicy with medium-long flavors of sweet black cherries, ripe raspberries, some peppery spice, a little bit of jammy red fruits and a hint of tannic grip.

A boring, sweet and jammy crowdpleaser Pinot Noir with lots of confected fruit and very little of varietal typicity. The wine retains some acidity, so it doesn't come across too soft and flabby, but the wine still lacks that typical crunch and freshness of a good Pinot. This is just a lighter jammy wines for people who don't enjoy jammy blockbuster wines. Definitely not my style, too sweet. Overpriced at 9,98€.

March 24, 2014 - When we poured into the decanter, we got an evergreen like tree sap aroma, with alcohol. took a sip and decided to wait over night. The "off" flavors and aromas blew off by next day, but this still acted much like a very young wine. Lots of gritty tannins, and raw acid that does not quite have enough fruit. Tastes a lot less like Pinot than either the 2012 or the 2011. The fruit is kind of austere, mostly plum and mulberry. There is some commendable richness on the palate from maybe lees or oak or both. could use more bottle age.

November 7, 2013 - We had another impromptu gathering last night. I decided to decant this wine for a little bit over an hour as we enjoyed a blended red. As anticipated, this wine became very well rounded after decanting. I still believe this wine is not yet ready.
