March 8, 2008 - a very crisp and clean, but distinctive, sauvignon. lemon, grass and chives on the nose. very intriguing nose for a $10 sauvignon. tons of lemon zest, ripe grapefruit and chives on the palate. ripe, but lively and refreshing acidity. what a bargain.

February 22, 2008 - Very tannic and too new. This wine should be in the cellar for another copy of years. Felt like eating grapes, not drinking wine. Guess can't complaint much for a bottle of wine for less than $10.00.

August 17, 2006 - Paul Hobbs is responsible for this argentine sauvignon blanc and he gave us a nice explanation about the uniqueness of the sauvignon blanc vineyard in the region of Barrancas. The region is mostly stony and full of aluvial gravels and one would not expect to see a sauvignon blanc produced is this hot region, but he says with the due care they can make this very delicate wine. They harvested in early march not at full ripeness, there was no oak involved, no malolactic fermentation, no maceration with the skins and he used selected yeasts to elevate the fruity character he desired.
The wine is light yellow/straw color. White flowers and fruits together with a distinctive grassy nose. Very delicate minerality and style. Fresh acidity and very light body, citric and grassy on the mouth too. Finess and elegance are the marks of this wine.
