Friday, January 16, 2009 - Litre bottle. Ex-cellars William Leacock in Funchal. Wine from around 1900, bottled in the 1920's. Minuscule cork, top-shoulder level. Very vital and attractive immediately after opening, lovely Verdelho typicity, quite dry but with Turkish delight, lovely intensity and acidity, salty like some Amontillados; amazing length, nutty, cold tea. An acquired taste, clearly very old but in great shape.
