Monday, July 30, 2012 - Light tulip yellow. Bright citrus and musky florality. Magical weight, balanced between glycerine fleshiness yet a real sense of lightness. Off dry with marvelous combination of orange and pear. Deeply embedded at the back end is intense grapefruit pith (which brought Sancerre to mind) and a ton of soil. This somehow manages to achieve great balance despite lower acidity than years such as 2002 or 2010. Just delicious and it seemed tighter and better structured than it was when I last tried it about 2 years ago. I certainly hope this is true since I have a lot of this left to drink through!
