Monday, December 24, 2012 - Meaty mineral nose, bit reductive at first, with a nicely rustic expression of dried dark cherries, cherry pits, cranberries, currants, beef juices, black pepper, bouquet de garrigue and wet stones. Good density on the dry palate, tart fruit with a dried component, long spicy finish without any heat. Constantly showing new aspects as it opens up, this beast is definitely alive and extremely interesting/rewarding to follow over the evening. We get some similarities aromatically to Le Ragose Amarone (also an old-school botti/foudre wine)
