Saturday, September 28, 2013 - The nose on this one is textbook pinot with floral notes blended with freshly pressed redcurrant. the oak shows itself as a smooth layer of marzipan giving the nose a sweet and round character. The palate is not as good as the nose. There is depth and some concentration here, but the acidic tinge of the '08 vintage holds a firm grip around the backbone of this wine, skewing it into acidic unbalance. The tinge worsens over time in the glass, and it also looses complexity, depth and concentration after 20 minutes in the glass. A good wine but a difficult vintage.
