Friday, August 22, 2014 - The 1964 Cheval Blanc is a glorious mature example from this fine château, exploding from the glass with a bouquet of ripe blackberries, tobacco leaf, menthol and violets. On the palate, the wine is extremely broad, long, and strikingly detailed, making an expansive and perfectly resolved impression, laden with ripe fruit. A memorable bottle that seems to be at peak maturity.
