Tuesday, January 10, 2006 - Intense purple/violet colour. Big, but well short of huge, nose: red berries, fresh, leafy, with a slight composty note. Palete is potent. Overflowing with very ripe boisenberry, blue- and blackberry. Composty edge to ripe tannins. Finish is strongly spiced (ginger, allspice) -- fades leaving impression of red fruit. Very potent, extracted and ripe in style. Had already thrown quite a bit of sediment.
