90 Points

Sunday, January 1, 2023 - Day 1 93 points, day 2 only 87. Splitting the score for 90.

On day 1, a very pretty nose with green apples, flowers and a hint of brioche. On the palate, bright acidity with citrus, green apple, mineral accents and that same hint of brioche. Excellent - full bodied, but bright.

Day2 it fell apart. All the lovely mineral and brioche notes were gone, replaced initially by grapefruit and bitterness. The bitterness eventually fell off, but it remained as high acidity with nothing to balance it.

8/5/2023 9:24:00 PM - Why would you downgrade a wine, particularly a Champagne, for how it holds up on Day 2? I appreciate it when folks mention this in the context of, say, a very young Bordeaux or Burgundy, as that might provide some insight on where the wine's future might lie (especially if the taster discerned noticeable improvement on Day 2). But not sure I understand why you would expect a Champagne to improve on Day 2 or, more importantly, discount your view of it if it does not.

8/6/2023 5:07:00 PM - Hi - I drink almost all my wines over 2 days, even champagne. I gave scores for both days, so you can take which ever you choose. If other reviewers drink a wine over multiple days, I truly appreciate their sharing their experience. I don't have any "expectation" as you have mentioned, just reporting my findings.

Just to add, since I do drink almost all of my wine over 2 days, I can say that majority do not decline on day 2, even champagane.
