Friday, January 6, 2023 - Really enjoyed but I tend to enjoy high abv wines, strong dark fruits and some coniferous notes. Would be interested to try a lower alcohol bottling of this one as it would probably offer more complexity. Also curious on how the chapelle compares.

5/8/2024 11:24:00 AM - Yea, 15.5% seems excessive to me. I have a few bottles that I'm going to let sit for at least another year. Meanwhile, I wish I had more older vintages of their Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert.

5/8/2024 5:27:00 PM - Thanks. I prefer at least moderate ABV wines. I've been looking for other good and moderately-priced Hermitage or Crozes-Hermitage, but so far haven't found anything that beats Thalabert for the money.

5/8/2024 5:33:00 PM - A lot of St-Joseph fits that description. A lot are in the 40-60$ range and are delicious. Just aim for a vintage with lower ABV

5/10/2024 9:22:00 AM - It depends a lot on the producer but cooler vintages have been 2021, 2013 and 2008 but 08 was a pretty rough vintage overall so I'd stay away from that one. 2013 would be the ideal vintage to check seeing as it's already got some age on it as well. The Delas Côte-Rôtie 2021 Seigneur de Maugiron was around 12.5% and honestly pretty great. I think I wrote the TN on that one a couple weeks back if you want to check
