Saturday, January 14, 2023 - 90 minute decant. Strong nose of oak and smoke with some red currant, and a touch of macadamia nut. On the supple palate, black cherry, black raspberry, and blueberry fruit washes over the tongue, adding minerals, asphalt, and touches of anise, red licorice, and red bell pepper. Finish is quite soft and peters out quickly, with fully resolved tannins, red raspberry fruit, and gentle earth flavors. The finish is lacking both intensity and energy at this point. Drink soon.
