Sunday, February 5, 2023 - Golden with coppery hints. Aromas of crab apple, green and white flowers, and oysters, plus hints of white grapefruit, lime juice, vanilla, buttery pastry, and sweet almond candy. On the palate it is far more complex, almost full and rich, with deep acid cut, a deft touch of oak, layers of fresh ripe fruit, and an intense mineral line. Long and intense finish, citrus and apples are the focus, but a little oak spice melds with everything, and the mineral character lingers beautifully. This really flaunts and struts! Does 2017 Champagne get much better? It might not be for the long haul, but it will definitely be worth following another 5 or so.
