Pale amber. Not much on the nose - slightly nutty, like an amontillado. Very light and deft on the palate with dried almonds and a hint of slightly burnt caramel but with enormous power and depth. Piercing acidity as you'd expect but not too sharp and as someone has already said, a hint of iodine and I am reminded of a fine pale Islay malt. A wonderful palate scrub of an aperitif and just the thing with a bowl of dried salted almonds. A really delicious sercial and definite rebuy, if you can still find it. I think the lighter, drier Barbeito style really lends itself to this grape.
