Friday, April 14, 2023 - JD Friday Wine Group - SA and MF co-host (City Club FW): Served blind - dark, caramel color, with some caramel/butterscotch on the nose. Very low acid, and more butterscotch and slight lemon on the palate. I had no clue, and guessed a southern Rhone white. Then I found out it was a sparkling wine served from a magnum. There were no bubbles, but once I learned it was sparkling, I immediately remembered the flavor/mouthfeel of a flat champagne. Don't get me wrong though, this wine was amazing, and held up so well. Would have been real cool to have bubbles, but the flavors were there. A super fun experience.
