2015 Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas

Saturday, April 29, 2023 - Tasted at a private "Château de Saint Cosme Gigondas vertical tasting", including the vintages 2016, 2015, 2012 and 2010, first on its own and then with food.
This is somewhat less unique and shiny than its gorgeous and youthful counterpart, the vintage 2016. It also does not yet have the broad character of the more matured vintage 2010. However, this is anyway a great wine that is really enjoyable at the moment. It is full-bodied, intensive, fruity and structured, displaying pleasant and darkish notes of blackberry, dark fruits, coal, herbs and minerals. The tannins have already resolved, but they are still fully existing, contributing to a nice grip and kick on the mid-palate and aftertaste.
You can still store this wine, if you appreciate the qualities of more matured wines, but as a whole, this is great now!
