Sunday, June 18, 2023 - Delicious and in it's drinking window. Poured this at the in-laws for Father's Day dinner where they served with beef tenderloin. Decanted for about an hour and it paired beautifully. The tannins are smooth, good acidity, the oak has integrated well, and there's still plenty of dark fruit here along with leather and forest floor. What a pleasure this was and well worth the wait. When opening aged wine, one always wonders am I opening it too late? Or too early? I feel we got this one spot on. There's lots of life here still, but tertiary characteristics will likely become more pronounced over the next couple of years.
