Thursday, June 29, 2023 - This bottle of totally classic aged Bordeaux opened with a deep crimson colour with red edging and a soaring nose blackcurrant, dark raspberries, dusty cedar and touches of spice and dark chocolate. The palate showed real depth of soft, pure red and black fruits leading into a savoury back palate of cedar, dark chocolate and liquorice that persisted beautifully. There's a real touch of Pall Mall club armchairs and cigars about this wine but the persistence of fresh fruits show that there's plenty of youth and purity still left in play.
