Sunday, May 24, 2009 - This was served together with the 99 Icardi and shows a much more "modernist" profile -the nose rocked right out of the gate and actually shut down a bit during a period of 5hrs of slow Ox. After several hrs in the decanter this came back beautifully. There is great extraction in this vintage and the wine is still fresh and vibrant. While it may not posses much complexity (hey it's barbera after all) it is a very well made wine and enjoyable.
