Saturday, July 8, 2023 - An Impromptu Wine Night (Mostly Rhones) (Los Olivos, CA): Not a great bottle relative to the half dozen I've previously had from this case, as the nose showed enormous volatility. While that VA eventually diminished, it never disappeared. Nonetheless, the wine showed plenty of nice tertiary notes in addition to the balsam/soy aspects, and had a lovely, rich texture with fine-grained tannins and an expansive finish.
