Saturday, July 15, 2023 - Presenting a clear, medium gold hue in the glass, this Leeuwin Estate 2012 Chardonnay exudes a captivating Burgundian-style bouquet brimming with notes of oak, vanilla, baked apple, and stewed pear. Upon tasting, it effortlessly reveals its superbly integrated, age-refined character, brimming with abundant fruit elements, touches of honey, and hints of buttery creaminess. It maintains an excellent balance, featuring medium acidity and tame tannins, contributing to a stellar mouthfeel. The wine is remarkably rich and textured, but stops short of becoming too oily or flabby, which only enhances the lasting impression of its lingering finish.
