Monday, July 31, 2023 - Inky in color with a reddish/brick rim.

On the nose blueberries, red currants, black plums, black cherries, light oak, licorice, earth, wild flowers, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, light vegetables, herbs, spices, light barnyard and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, cooked plums, light raisins, tobacco, earth, light vegetables, light vanilla, diet cola, barnyard, oak, eucalyptus, black tea and peppercorn.

Long tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Syrah from Russian River Valley. Easy drinking, soft, smooth and elegant. Showing nice complexity at this point.

Feels like a California Syrah, with a Burgundy Pinot Noir feel. Very interesting and unique.

This 10 year old is peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours of airtime. Alcohol is nicely integrated by now.

I've had a few vintages of this wine, and it is always delicious.

A good quality wine. Good by itself as a sipping wine, and good with food too.

Syrah grapes were aged in (80% new) French Oak barrels for 16 months. Unfiltered and unfined. A tiny production of only 450 bottles.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$100 (at release).
