Thursday, May 28, 2009 - A beautiful example of an aged St Estephe that is at its peak of drinking right now. Orange rim, beautifullly resolved colour. On the nose liquorice and mushrooms, damp earth. In the mouth sweet fruit, tangy berries, cedar, dry dusty tannins, notes of bitter chocolate powder. Great secondary characteristics coming through - smooth, pleasant, medium bodied. Excellent. Bordeaux as it should be.
