Wednesday, August 2, 2023 - My third bottle from The Standish Wine Co and their The Standish 2005. The aroma is gorgeous, dark berries and lavender. On the palate, blackberries, plums and black currants, smoky meat, black olives, leather notes, a finish that holds. But I think this vintage has reached the end of the road. There is no acidity to match the heavy fruit, causing the complexity to drop. Still a great wine, but I prefer the younger vintages. Drink now!
