Monday, September 11, 2023 - Mature, but not “old”. Opened an hour before dinner, but did not decant. Served with a pomegranate glazed lamb loin chop, lentils, and rice. Color was deep and showing almost no age. Nose is complex; leather, earth, dark fruit, and ash. Mouth is remarkably balanced, bright fruit, no heat, and you know the acidity and tannins are there, but not at all assertive. A lovely wine, and a gift for which I am thankful.
