Sunday, September 17, 2023 - What a dynamite bottle of pinot. Beautiful nose of tart cherries. Translucent and garnet-colored. Medium bodied, balanced acidity, and sophisticated (not lush) notes of cherries and tart strawberries. Edited on day two to add a point, from 93 to 94 — this got even better after the remaining 1/2 of the 750ml bottle was recorked and put in the fridge overnight — the acidity toned down a bit and the fruit put on weight. Sometimes pinot fruit “darkens” overnight in the fridge, but not in this case - just got even more complex and delicious. Very impressive.
