Saturday, October 28, 2023 - It is not my favourite thing to do, to go to Sicily and drink wines made with imported grapes. However, given Feudo Maccari does great with its “Saia” Nero D’Avola, I thiught it could be fun to try something where they bring in the Cabernet; see how it comes out.
The result is spectacular. Somehow you bring in the flavour of the Cabernet without missing the true sicilian nature of this wine - in the end, Cabernet likes the sun and the Southern facing exposure. Aged well, it becomes a soft tannins and quite full-bodied red, with character. Well done!
