Tuesday, December 12, 2023 - Usually, i am not a fan of red Carbonnieux, i rather prefer the white. This wine though was delicious with all tannins turned into fine grained flow, predominantly mint and earthy cherry notes, with quite some garrigues notes too, accompanied by some faint Pessac typical asphalt. The length was medium, but extremely polished and defensively aromatic, a pleasure to drink with slow roast veal and vegetables.
Interesting to see how notes from more than 10 years ago predicted decline of this Pessac now rising to the task at some twenty years of age. In this shape, i would give easy some 5 to 8 more years. Another bottle was slightly corked and not taken into account for the note.
