Wednesday, February 14, 2024 - This is a medium to dark violet, clear wine. The nose is of dark fruits as well as the flavors. There are elements of boysenberry, briar, cherries, black pepper, and bay leaf. There's some gamey elements along with some big tannins. The body is is ample with a firm consistency. The finish is persistent with some bitterness. This is a good wine, as is everything that Mike Officer and his crew makes at Carlisle, but it's not my favorite vineyard out of their portfolio.
