Friday, February 23, 2024 - Schiefer Reihburg-Vertikale 2024 mit Uwe Schiefer, Weinkosterei Burg Schlaining 23.2.2024, Austria (Weinkosterei, Schlaining Castle, Burgenland, Austria): For me this is the WOTN! The 2017 vintage is known for its mix of hot days and cool nights- acidity, fruit, well integrated tannins come together.
Even if this wine is still a baby, the nose is very expressive and open. The oak is still present but will certainly integrate over the next 5-10 years. The acidity is also prominent but this is a very complex wine and a beauty even by now! Typical salty minerality on the mid-weight palate. Very long! Give it many hours or a day of air or keep it in cellar for the next 5-10 years!
