Friday, March 8, 2024 - Classic KB Pinot with dark Cherry dominating the aromatics and flavors especially upon opening. Some fine sediment removed. The wine was fairly tight but after about 45 min decant started to reveal more of it's plush and layered complexity. Continued to soften with more sweet fruit expression on the mid palate the longer it was exposed to air and now also more secondaries of Fall leaf forest floor and Asian spice caress the finish. Balanced and much more elegant at this point then in it's youth. If you prefer more jammy plush fruit you are probably a bit late to the party & I would recommend consumption, but for me this is just entering the optimal zone and has the stuffing to continue to evolve for another decade- if you enjoy a softer and more nuanced experience.
