Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, March 26, 2024 - Tasted at an Evening with Friends alongside 2005 Mouton Rothschild and 2005 Chateau Larcis Ducasse. The Chateau Latour was, at first, not that approachable as we had opened and decanted the wines just prior to the main dinner course. We wanted to understand the evolution from bottle to glass from the beginning. With time the aromatics developed and were profound, the flavors of this truly outstanding Bordeaux coming through after the first to second hour of the dinner. While this wine remains very young, approach now with some reticence as holding for longer would be highly recommended. Certainly a wine that will last through the decades. I would reward myself another tasting in about 3 years, to follow the progression of what should become a blockbuster wine!
