Tuesday, April 9, 2024 - On opening I found this rather pinched and austere, with a bitter note on the finish, and suspected it could be a faulty bottle, but as it opened up gradually it blossomed from an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. There were black fruits and liquorice, underpinned with pleasing mature tannins which melted away to leave a lingering and satisfying finish. This was linear and perfectly proportioned, with nothing unnecessarily overdone. Great winemaking. CHP 94 pts
