4/28/2024 9:02:00 PM - No. I think it's a good, enjoyable wine, but it didn't impress me. I imagine it'll get better with age, but I found it quite primary/fruity (which isn't bad [or surprising at this age], but not what I'm hoping for with Syrah), the oak seemed to stick out a bit, and worst of all for me, it came off a bit tart, which isn't something I like, especially on red wines. Still, it's a good, quality wine and I imagine it'll get better.

It may also be some stylistic preference as this had by far the most new oak out of any Syrahs I tasted while in Rhone and I liked it less than the other Syrahs I tasted (at Maison Stephan, Rostaing, Gonon, and Clape).

4/28/2024 9:20:00 PM - I wish I had other vintages of this so I could tell you if I think it's more of a stylistic preference or maybe the more challenging vintage. Regardless, the 2021 and 2022 Vernay Condrieus, on the other hand, are very impressive.
