Monday, April 29, 2024 - 3 bottles over past 6 months. Evolving nicely, it has a long life ahead. Straight from the bottle, fresh slightly tart cherry, acidity and very present tannin. With a 2-3hr decant, the wine really starts to show its stuff: characteristic black cherry that’s so addictive, leather, sweet tobacco. Acidity mellows and tannins are still present. Will try to hold my last bottles a few more years or pair them with rich red meat after a few hours in the decanter. This is a really great bottling from a great vintage and my current benchmark for Chianti Classico.
