Wednesday, May 1, 2024 - A pale orange red. Packs a lot on the nose and immediately identifiable as Rayas and an excellent representation of range. This would’ve done even better with another 12 hours of air time, as it got strikingly elegant on day 2. Some prunes, candied strawberries, potpourri and lots of spices in the mouth. The wine gave a lot of oomph and a big dash of sweet fruit, but on the palate, weightless and airy, leaving almost no evidence of the suggest “jamminess” as a result of those exciting peppers and spice dancing on the tongue. Got a lot left in the tank.
