Thursday, May 2, 2024 - Decanted for two hours in the morning, poured over dinner. The filling-level of the bottle was very top shoulder, the mushroomy cork was mostly soaked, with some seepage. Medium brick colour, some sediment. Dried red fruit, dried black fruit, strawberry, earth, tobacco, gamy notes, spices, balsamic notes, and ethereal notes, with good acidity, mostly resolved tannin, and impressive length of the balsamic and ethereal finish. A notable amount of VA. Some old age sweetness. Well balanced (if you are not sensitive to VA), with great intensity. Even more integrated on day two. Quite intriguing. Drink now and enjoy! But then, the wine will keep for decades and would sell for sky-high prices in 10 and in 20 years, so what‘s the call?
