Tuesday, July 28, 2009 - Nose: rich, ripe pineapple dominates with citrus and papaya coming through and slight spice (warm, like cinnamon without the fire) and nuttiness. On the palate there is excellent acidity and freshness thanks to low oaking. Ripe melon and more citrus, excellent purity of fruit and a warm, medium-length finish. 13.5% alcohol well-handled, a touch of heat on the finish but not that annoying. Excellent stuff, and for the price (around £8) and availability (at all large Sainsburys), this is my QPR Chardonnay of the year.
