Thursday, September 3, 2009 - Interesting bottle. Popped and poured. Out of the gate it was quite restrained and reserved. After some time in the glass, and a little warm-up, I started to get, dare I say, elegant notes of dark chocolate, cedar planks, black olives and red fruit. In the mouth, the tannins were integrated but still assertive and the decent acidity countered the innate richness that mirrored the initial aromas of chocolate, berries, etc. Towards the end it started getting a little tart and thin. Would probably have been better a year or two ago, but still an interesting drink nonetheless. At around $10 a joy to drink on an everyday basis.
