Wednesday, November 18, 2009 - Color still solid, no sign of brick. Classic bordeaux nose, although not incredibly expansive. In the mouth the tannins have settled down, the wine is well-balanced. We did not decant, and it seemed surprisingly acidic for the first hour or so, but then very smooth. It seemed to us a classic bordeaux with the usual graphite, leather, even cedar elements. The fruit was there. Not a big wine and I don't think it will improve markedly. But, it is a real bordeaux--can't be gotten any other way than to start with a solid example, let it sit 10-15 years. We enjoyed it greatly.
