Tuesday, January 5, 2010 - This started off very good, diminished a bit during the course of a dinner and then finished good again. Nose had plum, spice and a bit of graphite. The mouth feel really defined the wine, almost syrupy but not at all cloying. That density is what made it less enjoyable as it went on. A bit of woodsy, tea like flavor emerged at the end and added some complexity. Interesting and enjoyable. We had it with peppered tuna which might not have been the perfect food match. Will try with different food match another time.
