95 Points

Saturday, March 6, 2010 - Opened a bottle of 1993 Opus One that I have had in my cellar since 1995 last night, Morton's decanted it for about 1 hour. The nose was excellent, my first impression was that the wine had aged beautifully. The nose contained that earthy, complex aroma, hint of wood and spice.
The taste of the wine was excellent, it was very smooth and had an awsome finish. It was hard to beleive that the wne smoothed out over the 45 minutes that we took to drink it. The blackcurrant, cassis and black cherry aromas and flavors that Opus is know for came out.
I am not sure, but this bottle may have had some more time in the bottle, but I think I would drink it sooner rather than later.
I was VERY pleased with the OPUS!!! Enjoy if you have any left.
