Monday, March 15, 2010 - Really interesting wine this. Straight out of the bottle it was quite Port like, quite thick and luxurious. It had stewed fruit and chocolate notes, with a dark chocolate finish. Then after a couple of hours the acidity really came to the fore, with bright blackcurrant and caramel notes. The second day, all the elements had resolved and it displayed a good balance, with an almost Gigondas mouthfeel. Dark fruits, chocolate and slightly burnt wood. I think you have to be in the mood for this wine, but if you are it's really very good.
