Thursday, April 8, 2010 - On opening the bottle you get the wonderful aromas of vanilla and oak which for me is typical to this wine, decanted for 30 minutes, then started to get hints caramel and berries coming through, on tasting what hit me from the last bottle i had, was the tannins have leveled out nicely, plus the flavours where not so intense, still lots of oak, vanilla, strawberries, cherries and a smooth creamy aftertaste, the acidity is good. this bottle is more structured than the previous bottle, a classic Rioja, one of my favourites, its like having an old friend around every time i pop open a bottle.
